Howdy, my name is COPE!

Chow’s Up is my brain child, passion and was created as a necessity for surviving the firehouse.

I wanted everyone who was starting out on their first day of rookie year to have the tools and knowledge needed for success in the kitchen. You’ll have enough to worry about besides what to cook. Let me help you take care of the meals, so you can focus on the job.

I currently reside in Overland Park, KS with my family. Currently, I work as a career firefighter for my local department.

Tough Critics

I started in the fire service at the beginning of 2020. During my rookie year I was asked to learn a tremendous amount of information. From the right gear to bring to calls, interacting with patients, building construction and the list goes on and on. The one thing I was not prepared for was how to cook for a bunch of veteran firefighters. Sometimes there are 4 of us and sometimes there were 12. I had to learn how to keep these guys fed and quick. That became the inspiration for Chow’s Up.

I was lucky enough to have some life experience when joining the fire department and adapting to the challenges of the firehouse kitchen came naturally. However, for some, the prospect of feeding everyone with little or no experience is quite daunting. And as a rookie you want to leave a lasting “good” impression. The best way to do that is through food. Welcome to Chow’s Up where the meals are designed for the rookies and the veterans of the fire service. Fireproof meals designed to impress, is what I hope you find here.
